July Reading List
June was a total bust, only read seven books!!
July wasn’t shaping up to be much better with all the traveling and such, but I contracted a mild stomach flu and spent the past few days listless yet not so incapacitated I couldn’t read. Thus I am chugging right along on my July stack. (See how I am trying for a silver lining on my being sick during vacation?) Then again most months that I am ahead I space out half way through and have to scrounge at the end. =)
Ten books a month is a lot to read and I find that I’m struggling with getting enough sleep and finishing all my books. Sadly the best reading time for me is also the best sleeping time. Ah well, I’m still well on track to read 100 books this year.
July is the The Challenge of Time and Place.
Settings, including both the time element and location, are as important in the makings of a good story as great characters and well-though out plotline.Of Time:
1. Read a book that is set in the past (historical).
2. Read a book that is set in the present (contemporary).
3. Read a book that is set in the future (futuristic).
4. Read a book that involves time-travel.
5. Read a book that was popular on the year that you were born.Of place
6. Read a book that is set in a major city (urban)
7. Read a book that is set in a rural setting, small town or country.
8. Read a book that is set in space or off-planet.
9. Read a book that happens in a place that is completely created by the author’s imagination or a place that cannot be found in a current world map. (fantasy).
10. Read a book set in the city, state or country you currently lived in, or a place, city, state or country you have visited.
I’ve ordered the books by numbers (like ^), but am currently missing a time travel one. Didn’t have one hand so had to scrounge one from the library. Will see what comes in. =)
