Kirby – Canvas Curse Review (DS)
Kirby has been cursed by an evil witch and turned into a pink ball. It’s our job to help him along in his quest to break the curse and free the land.
The story itself is not intrinsic to the game. In fact I had to look it up for this review. What this boils down too is that the game play does just fine in the fun department without the story there to lean on.
Playing the game reminds me very much of pinball, only without a static board. Kirby rolls around, basically at his own volition, and can be tapped to speed up or use special powers. The player is given a “magic paintbrush”, aka the stylus, with which to draw rainbow paths that can span gaps, act as a ramp, or protect Kirby from enemy fire – rainbow paddles. =)
With a little over twenty different levels, each one of them an easily manageable size, the game is very accessible for all levels of gamers. Its fast and fun and doesn’t require hours of devotion to enjoy.

Three out of Five Mushrooms. Fun enough game, but I wouldn’t call it anything special. Short little levels that make for quick easy fun, but also make it easy to put down. Grabbed me to a certain extent, but I found the game became a bit repetitive around the fourth level.
