Brag Worthy
Some people have fancy cars or big houses, some have fine clothes and jewelry, but when we have company over, my point of pride is always our game closet.
I have this pattern with guests and it goes something like this: welcome welcome, greeting at the door, rush through living area, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom, and then finally our game closet! When I open the door, I envision a choir of angels singing, the clouds parting and rays of light illuminating the fabulousness that is the game closet. (Note to self: figure out way to hook up audio and lights to game closet door.)
This all occurred to me (rather recently) after some of my long time friends, who live waaay too far away, came to visit. (Thanks A+B for visiting!! Next time bring C!) They were appropriately awed.
Its funny the things we choose to show off, it says a lot about us. Clearly mine states that I’m a big old nerd.
If only I could figure out a way to fit my computer games in there also. /sigh
<3TFG <– total nerdlinger.

Love the game closet! We sort of have one- we have a shelf in our guest room and half of the shelf under our coffee table. I totally know what you mean about showing off your gaming closet. I used to feel the same way about my costuming closet, items scavenged from thrift stores, vintage clothing fairs, ren faires and various theater costume sales. But alas, that has languished in due to neglect and has long since been eclipsed by my friends who still LARP and boffer LARP. It still fills a whole 6′ closet though. I can be proud of that :D
I see some decent overlap with the games Peter and I have. We should do board games sometime!

I loved seeing your costume closet!! If I had one I would somehow manage to combine it with the gaming closet to make it truly geek worthy. =D
Yes on the playing board games sometime!! In fact I was just thinking I really wanted to play Small World again soon.

It was a very nice game closet. Too bad we weren’t there long enough to play any of them.
