You're probably right. I don't play enough War-like First Person Shooters to be a core gamer. No loss there!

Isn't it sad that Nintendo is basically the only platform left that encourages innovation and diversity? I think with the Wii and the DS, they have some of the best games out there, more fun and interesting then (as you said) the latest Halo or Diablo clone (though I did love Diablo).

Thank you Nintendo for keeping the focus on good game play and not just the next generation of graphics spooge.

You are clearly a core game customer but I would argue that you are *not* a "core gamer" (neither am i.). This is actually fabulous news because, far as I can tell, the games that are created for and marketed to core games are BORING. The're basically remaking halo and diablo over and over and over again and for some reason their audience remains happy (ok, fine, the graphics are better but what are good graphics if the game play is essentially a clone of previous experiences). I'd be thrilled to find out that Nintendo is going to (again) go against the grain and start making games that are different and interesting -- and if they can make more money doing that (so far they have) then maybe the other game companies will take the hint.
