The Shadowrun Kickstarter recently ended with bonus funding. I am SOOOOO excited for this!! I pledged enough that I get ALL the swag!! The doc wagon card and the USB dog tags and the shirts and a poster. OMG I CANT WAIT! Yaaaay Shadowrun!
Wasteland 2 also managed to garner far more support then was asked for. Makes me wonder if they could actually make a game if they had only gotten the minimum amount.

Anyway its all rosy for both of them and since I was a supporter for both, I look forward to playing the games.. sometime. Year and half or two? I would be surprised if they can deliver faster. (So hard to wait, but must be realistic!) Going to be interesting to see what happens. =D
But my Kickstarting hasn’t waned simply because Shadowrun is a go. There are more projects to support!!
Grim Dawn, an action role playing game using the Titan Quest engine. Its sounding like a mix between Titan Quest and EverQuest. Double quest lovin. Mainly because they are focusing on the open world aspect and the lac
k of hand holding. This game will not be forgiving, people!
Zombicide is my other currently supported project. It’s a cooperative boardgame that, like the title suggests, is a zombie survival game. I’m not sure if it could be more awesome, but they seem to be managing more and more bonus material, since the pledge drive is currently far exceeding their expectations.

While I have been off, playing every game besides World of Warcraft, my husband has stayed strong and forged on without me. (Its also possible that he just thinks all other games suck in comparison and arn’t worth his time.)
Whatever the case he has been working his way through various achievements and today he managed a really impressive one.

100 Mounts in World of Warcraft. Well 101 since the reward is a brand new mount, the Red Dragon Hawk.

Congrats to my fabulous husband. Had to share his awesome power of achieving. =D
(And yes, thats a picture of his female Belf Paladin.)

I’ve been on and off World of Warcraft for a bit now. The regular raid I was running with my Warlock went kaput, which pretty much began my WoW vacation. Well sort of vacation, since I have been getting on sporadically to finish up some achievements, like Glory of The Cataclysm Hero.
Last night, during said achievement run, one of the guys brought his priest, who happens to be in full Tier 13 gear. I have never before coveted a look quite as much as this one. The whole set together is incredibly awesome looking. Almost seems like an homage to V for Vendetta. Anyway that’s what it made me think of.
I have always played with my helmet graphic off. In general, my character’s pony tail is far preferable to look at, then any of the helm graphics. But bolstered by the priest T13 look, I turned helm graphics on, just too see what my Warlocks T13 helm graphic looked like. Couldn’t be too bad right? Wrong.

Tentacle coming out of my face. Yeah. So wrong. Warlocks get screwed again. ~sigh~

Finally watched First Class. Took me far longer then I expected, especially since I really liked the original x-men movie. But then the lack of Wolverine was probably hampering my motivation.
I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I didn’t like this movie all that much. It was fine, but in my opinion, didn’t add anything vital to the X-men movie lore.
First Class follows the rise of Professor X and Magneto; the former born into the lap of luxury while the latter is subjected to Nazi culling. They meet later in life, both in pursuit of a mutual enemy, where they form a tenuous partnership and start recruiting new mutants.
While I have never found Professor X and Magneto to be the most interesting of mutants (plenty powerful though), they shine in comparison to the ‘first class’ of mutants that are recruited. An odder, more useless set of powers I have never seen. The poor lambs almost seem like the X-men version of redshirts.

I have never really been interested in Captain America. He has always seemed a bit too patriotic and a bit too mans man for me. But he is an Avenger and I really wanted to watch his origin story before watching the Avengers Movie (which comes out really soon, May 4th!).
I sat down to watch this with very few expectations and found myself enthralled by the beginning of the movie. Steve Rogers, a small and frail man, finds his passion to join the armed forced and fight in WWII thwarted by physical handicaps. But he doesn’t give up, he continues, until recruited by a special unit, which is hoping to create a super soldier to fight the Nazis.
Though Mr. Rogers is physically not the soundest bet, he is ultimately chosen because he is already a hero at heart. Which is what makes the beginning of the movie so compelling, seeing his passion and struggle ultimately rewarded with success. A true underdog story. (I won’t go into the sad assumption that success can only be reached via physical perfection. Clearly Captain America was written before the rise of the nerd.)

Shadowrun was one of my all time favorite Pen and Paper RPGs. My little group and I spend many sleepless nights creating characters and flinging them at the corporate evilness that is so prevalent in Shadowrun. My very first character was a hacker named Purple. She of course was beyond awesome and probably one of the reasons I loved the movie Hackers so much. =P
So when I saw this Kickstarter pledge drive for a new Shadowrun game I immediately participated. How could I afford not too? I happily support any effort to bring the Shadowrun world back to life. I was one of the few people who kept on buying all those darn books even though I had no one to play with anymore. (I even tried to get an internship at FASA at one point, but they had gone belly up by then.)
In fact, for the first time I wish I had $10k to pledge. The reward is pretty much the best thing of all time. Also its sold out, which means three other very rich people agree with me. Invite me to the game????
Pledge $10,000 or more
3 Backers SOLD OUT (0 of 3 remaining)
Previous rewards + Mike Mulvihill, who led Shadowrun game development at FASA Corp., will COME TO YOUR TOWN TO RUN A TABLETOP GAME OF SHADOWRUN FOR YOU AND FIVE OF YOUR FRIENDS. (He’ll even buy some snacks.)
Oh well, I will just resign myself to experiencing the awesome goodness that is Shadowrun in PC format. Support, support, support!!

Since I couldn’t bring everything awesome home from Disneyland, I had to be a little picky. These weren’t easy choices but it was fairly apparent that certain items just couldn’t be left behind. So here is my Disney loot. =)

Yup, thats two lightsabers. I could have easily built more. Definitely a highlight of the trip. =)

Cuteness abounds at Disneyland, and though I find myself mostly immune to its lure, these three stuffies hit below the belt.

Awwwwww baby Pooh!! Plushy Tigger cuteness!!! Plushy baby Storm Trooper? COME ON! So not fair.

Disney might not own Star Wars, but they sure manged to make magic together. Star Tours is one of Disneyland’s main attractions, but what makes it especially evil is that the ride exits right into the Star Wars Disney store. Check out all the stuff you need to walk past to get outside. I tried to be strong but didn’t manage to get out without spending. Totally evil genius marketing plan.
