This is something that has been circulating in some of the WoW Blogs I read occasionally. Even though I don’t consider this a World of Warcraft Blog (though it could easily become one!) I thought it might be a good way to pay my respects to WoW.

And respect it deserves. World of Warcraft: The Lich King expansion has probably been my favorite game of the year (2009). I know, it was actually released in 2008, but I played so much of the game this year, I think it fully qualifies. =)

I’m pretty sure that I played WoW more this year then I slept. And so I award WoW the “Better than Sleep” award. =)

Like most things ‘online social’, I found out about this via email invitation. This sneaky invitational spam, propagated by well meaning friends and email contacts, is usually the first thing to be deleted; yet the avid reader in me just couldn’t ignore this. (That’s how they getcha!)

At first glance I though ‘oh no not another social obligation site’, but with not much digging it became apparent that Goodreads is indeed about books and not just a clever front for social networking. Oh sure people review books and everyone gets their two cents, people friend each other and even authors get a chance to promote their own books, but in the end the books stand for themselves.

This arrived in the mail today from Bri over at Random Access Babble.

A while back she reaped the benefit of a ‘pay it forward’ blog contest and thus had to pony up and spread the goodness to others. Well I was one of those lucky others that responded in time. And wonderful person that she is, she deigned to send me something sweet even though I was pretty sure that my site wasn’t really one of those type of blogs.

The past two weeks of Fantasy Football have been winners for my team!

Week eight was supposed to be the Manning battle, but then I forgot to play him. Of course he had a fabulous game, on the bench. Payton would have won that week though.
I did manage to eek out a win, mostly thanks to Santana Moss who scored a beastly 24.40 points (240 yards and two TDs). But I think I will have to give week eight MVP to Chris Johnson who, as my last player to go, scored me the 6+ points I needed to win.

Week nine was won handily with my team totaling a grand 103.14 points. Not sure who should get week nine MVP. It’s between my kicker who made 15 points (super high for a kicker, he made six kicks, two of which were over 40 yards) and my defense, Arizona, who scored 18 points.

Since this is the first double digit that my defense has managed this season, MVP will have to be Arizona D. Maybe this will start a new trend. =)

Late on sunday I remembered that we still hadn’t watched Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Even after making a huge post about it and everything. We still managed to squeak in the entire thing before it got yanked off the web Sunday at midnight.

I’m not even going to make a seperate review post for this. I only need one word and five mushrooms.

AWESOME!

If you missed it (…) it is well worth the effort of finding it. I think there will be a DVD released soon.

Awesome, fabulous, breathtaking, magnificent, splendid, glorious. How I miss great entertainment like this.Joss Whedon clearly has a knack for picking a great team, for almost everything I have seen of his has great quality, acting, art, music, dialogue, and story. Its amazing to find such constant great quality.

So I thought I could squeeze in a review before the clock stuck twelve, but I can’t.

Turns out that I don’t write well when sleep deprived. Shocking I know!

I did rewrite the ‘About’ page and the ‘Reviews Explained’ page. So its not all wasted.

Okay off to sleep for me so I can rise early and pretend to get more writing done! =D
