Burned

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Well, my previous post turned out to be more true then I expected. Puzzle and Dragons continues to keep me quite locked up. And true to form, after such a long binge, I am getting quite burned out, on everything video games.

I think it might be time for me to risk the outside world for a bit. So much to see after all, or so they tell me anyway.

puzzle and dragons log in day 100 bonus obsessed sigh - token female gamer girl gamer woman gamer geek gamer nerd i love gaming

This actually happened yesterday, but since it was already deemed Raptr anniversary, I decided to hold my PnD crazy until today.

100 consecutive log in days, sort of speaks for itself. I might as well just admit to having ever so slight of a Puzzle and Dragons obsession. Bonus was that they gave me 10 free magic stones, which I already spent. Nothing noteworthy.

It might be entertaining to muse about how my next PnD update will be on day 200, but it would all be lies. We all know that its a running Puzzle and Dragons commentary around here. I just can’t help myself and since its my blog, I can spew PnDness as much as I want. HA!

One year Raptr

TFG Raptr stats on May 8th 2013

As of today, I have officially been a Raptr member for an entire year. Though I originally created the account to help me keep track of game played times, and it does that decently well, its keeps track of all sorts of other useless information, like achievements and types of games played.

I have to admit I find the break downs of all my games quite fascinating. Not sure what it says about me, other then I have played a lot (a LOT) of World of Warcraft.

Turns out that I have played 1,128 hours of games in the past year, which is exactly 47 days. That’s quite a bit more then I expected. From what I can tell that encompasses 35 different games. Also more then I expected.

Maybe in the coming year I will finally use those game hours for something productive, like find a cure for boredom. Oh wait. Already did. Ha!

Gaming Convalescence

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

I’m finally feeling better, which means I’m semi productive in the real world instead of only being a computer game lump. Funny how most of my illnesses end up getting cured by playing lots of computer games, and maybe a little bit of sleep.

Since I missed it, happy belated May 4th (be with you), May 5th (Cinco de Mayo), and May Sith (revenge of). There, all caught up. =D

Game productivity, on the other hand, was high!

Puzzle and Dragons is Medicinal

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

I woke up this morning with a huge sore throat and simply stayed in bed for as long as I possibly could, abdicating all responsibility. But I couldn’t sleep, mostly because there is a huge Puzzle and Dragons special event going on this week and I HAVE PLANS! Thankfully Puzzle and Dragons is guaranteed to make me better (this statement has not be verified by the FDA). And yes I really am sick.

The event is the super awesome 20k Likes on FaceBook Community Appreciation event. Plus the Scotch Dragon for this week is Lagavulin, which I am totally not prepared for and now all week we have a special dungeon a day. No wonder I played all day. There is so much to do I could probably easily play all week. 120 hour marathon!

For the record, I do enjoy raiding

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

It’s been pointed that I may have been a little overzealous in denigrating my current World of Pandacraft raiding experience. Thus I would like to clarify that I do quite enjoy raiding, really.

What I am struggling with the most, is that my character feels particularly ineffective right now and that my ability to change this is being hampered mainly by my unwillingness to run 400 daily quests a day. (Many gear upgrades no longer come from the actual raids, but are instead purchasable via valor and require faction.)

The recent 5.2 patch also managed to nerf Warlocks into the bottom ranks of dps. Though the change was to bring the very top tier of Warlocks more inline with other classes, the middling and lower level Warlocks (like me) end up bearing the brunt of the changes.

This also means that I have to go back to the drawing board and figure out a new talent and glyph spec. Mostly I rely on the internetz for this tedious task, but currently no one seems to agree on what is the best Warlock Affliction build.

I also get to dump mastery as a stat, which I have been gearing for, and am supposed to instead aim for haste. Knowing me and how slow I am to accumulate new gear, I might just be able to hit the haste cap in time for the next big Warlock nerf.

Maybe I should just level a monk. Viva la Raid!

God Results

Friday, March 1st, 2013

I had two more Rare Egg pulls after Venus yesterday for God Fest in Puzzles and Dragons. One resulted in Neptune, which I already had (my only previous god). The last pull I saved for my husband since he enjoys the entire process far more.  I like making him happy, plus he seems to have crazy good luck on my account.

This is what his pull resulted in:

Though I had hoped for Hades, because God of the Underworld is too awesome to not want, the Japanese God Kagutsuchi is even better!

I think these pleasant surprises are part of what I enjoy most about the game, the chance to discover new faces and be impressed by new possibilities. Although right now I do feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of leveling and evolving my monster box has filled up with.

Reading Challenge 2013

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Look at me already being more productive! I finally updated my reading challenge for 2012 (I know, totally overdue!) and even though I managed to read 80 books last year, it only came to 25,860 pages. Bleh, that’s what I get for reading graphic novels. Ah well.

Onward to 2013s challenge, 100 books or 40,000 pages, whichever I manage first. (If last year is any indication I have no hope at 40k pages.) =P

For anyone interested to see what I have been reading, here is my book list on Goodreads.com. As for how I’m picking what to read, I’ve been following along with a few different online book cluby sort of things which are: Vaginal Fantasy Hangout, Geek Girls Book Club, and occasionally The Sword and Lazer.

Derailed-olutions

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

I always try to do the whole new years resolution thing, but find, like most people, that I simply don’t manage. Mostly old habits are hard to overcome, but its also the time of year. Why is it so crazy after new year? Didn’t we just leave the crazy Winter Holiday time behind?

Well, I can say for certain that the whole stomach flu put a wrench in things and now my whole life is about a week behind. Thankfully I’m feeling all better. Now to find motivation. Isn’t that always the thing, finding motivation. Thus failed resolutions are the norm.

My usual resolution for TFG is to do more reviews and this year is really no different. Looking at my to be reviewed list, it occurs to me that maybe its time to change the name of this blog to ‘games I played last year’ since my delay time seems to run about a year. But those changes also require motivation. (Ha!) But a by line is easy to change.

Thus I shall continue onward in my quest to find motivation and finish all those darn reviews. (Double HA!)

I leave you with this awesome video of Mindstorm genius (LEGO!) Watch it! http://youtu.be/QwGM-DxJwTg
