This gamer's review of all things computer, console, and games!

Kickstarter peek

So most of the projects that I have supported are all funded and should be on their way in the next two years. Weee. And of course I have spent waaaay  more then I would have otherwise, because I’m supporting the people! Doing good things!!!

Funds being tapped out and all I have avoided over funding more projects for a while. And then a friend of mine linked this.

A board that doesn’t have to be held down by books, that doesn’t leave crappy ghost images, that might actually last and look decent? Yes please.

The other project I just backed is Tropes vs Women. A webseries looking at the various tropes that women in video games get put into.

This should be really interesting to see come to fruition.

Now I will be stepping away from the kickstarter, for a while anyway. =)

The future of Table Top RPGs has my money. It looks like it would be super handy for Gamedays. Part of me also hopes it doesn’t get funded because of the money issue ;-)

LOL! I hear you on that.
But yeah the brief case one with the extra storage units looks really handy. Especially for our house since we dont have a lot of spare room. Thus the mat that can be rolled up and stored away from everything.
Sadly we just dont play enough table top rpgs to justify getting it. =(

I ended up also kickstarting the tropes videos. I was mildly interested in the idea, but as a extremely casual non-online gamer I am not surrounded by these things all the time so I wasn’t sure how much they’d mean to me.

And then I saw the ugly, horrific backlash to the project. That sort of nasty mysogynistic crap that makes me sick to my stomach and want to turn off the internet (if only that would stop it). So I gave money to be a part of doing something about that. That this can still happen is horrifying, but the number of supporters, positive comments and the sheer money she’s raised so far show that there is movement toward change which gives me hope.

Hehehe, I just posted about this very same thing. Ugh. What is wrong with people that this sort of behavior is something they even conciser enacting? Also makes me want to turn off the internet.
But like you said, at least her project is getting funded, by a lot. =)
I look forward to seeing it.
