The IT Crowd Review (TV)
In general I tend to avoid TV reviews, mainly because most of what’s available is vastly off topic. If fact most computer/internet/computer games that show up in TV (and movies) are laughable in their execution. Many an eye roll was had by me. =)
That’s one of the wonderful things about The IT Crowd; it gives us both sides of the coin, the tech savvy and the tech retarded, and somehow manages to create comedic gold.
All three seasons are currently available for streaming download at Netflix, which is how we watched it. Love the watch on demand streaming video stuff, but I will leave all that for another discussion.
I’m here to gush about The IT Crowd!

Like many British comedies, it only has six episodes per season. It’s a rather quick watch at a mere twenty-five minutes per episode.
The show revolves around an IT department in a large company that is home to two rather anti social male computer geeks. They are assigned a new manager, a lady rather desperate for a job, desperate enough to fudge the details of her qualifications. Hilarity ensues.
In my mind, what makes the show work is that she turns out to be a rather ideal manager for them after all, as she fills in some much needed skills that the boys in IT seem to seriously lack – human interest and all. =P
Beyond that, there are some really hilarious computer jokes (ones that actually make sense!)
Although season one is probably my favorite overall, season three is home to my favorite episode, called “Speech”. I laughed through the entire episode, laughed again through the second viewing. It’s just priceless.
