A Warlock with too many Mounts?
Free mounts, that was part of the incentive package I was given for leveling my Warlock. (That’s right, leveling to eighty is not reward enough. I tend to lose interest in the monotony. Besides I already have a level eighty Hunter who is impressively distracting.)
The Hawkstriders are incredibly pretty mounts, and one of the main reasons I picked the Blood Elf race. Free and pretty, I had to get as many as I could. So I purchased all the ones I could from the mount vendor. =D

Four slow speed Chocobos (Hawkstrider: black, blue, purple, pink) and three fast speed Chocobos (Swift Hawkstrider: green, purple, pink). Banner shown in that order.
One thing I completely forgot when I picked the Warlock class was that they get class mounts through their trainers (it used to be long involved quests, but no longer). But since I am so enamored by the Chocobo, my little Warlock is hardly ever found riding anything else.
Around level sixty-eight, my husband asked why I never rode my level sixty Warlock class mount – the Dread Steed. The answer, I didn’t know I had it. But damn is it awesome looking.
The last two levels (until flying!) had to be spent on the fiery mount with spikes. Blood Elf Warlock just has too many awesome mount choices. What I really need is an addon that will randomly pick which mount to ride. That way it’s a pleasant surprise.
Level seventy was a huge achievement, but in the mount world that’s the level that unlocks flying mounts. It’s a bittersweet accomplishment since the Chocobos are land bound.
This also opened up a bunch of mount achievements – Slow flying, fast flying, and ten mount achievements.

That’s right, at level seventy you get both slow and fast flying. It seems that the developers agree about the oddity of earning two levels of flying at the same time. According to the notes about the latest patch that’s being tested, mounts are getting some huge changes. Some of note are slow flying is going to be moved to level sixty and then fast flying will be reserved for level seventy. Also the price for the mounts is going to drop significantly.
Since the skill is separate from any actual mount, I didn’t bother getting a slow flying mount – they aren’t really that cute. And after the next patch, if I really need more flying mounts, it sounds like they will be much cheaper.
Most importantly my Warlock has a fast flying mount. No putt putt putting along for her.
Although it would be fabulous to have a Warlock specific flying mount. Hint hint!
