WoW Woes
Okay, so maybe not all woes, but all it is certainly time for my weekly WoW ranting. (Hmm maybe I should do this weekly, might be cathartic.)
Somehow I have gone from being mildly interested in raiding, to raiding consistently four days a week. Since the new dungeon came out, Ice Crown Citadel (ICC), I got invited to be a guest (Hunter) on a regular ICC10, which turned into semi permanent. Then my little guild started running an ICC10 (Warlock does guild runs) and we got invited as a guild to join an ICC25, which has been taking two days a week so far.
The guest gig currently has the best success rate, as it’s a more consistent set of people. Our guild is too small so we always have to pick up a few extra random people (same with the 25man run). But overall the challenge is exciting and succeeding is invigorating.
But it also means its four days a week of intense playing and I am beat!! I don’t even want to look at the computer on other nights.
Here is the other thing, because of the way the frost badges are set up, they can only be obtained in said ICC runs. A daily random dungeon will give a bonus two frost badges and the weekly raid quest will net another five. All told, a single character could net upwards of thirty frost badges a week. But that’s too much grinding for me so I find myself averaging more around twenty a week. Hard to grind when I can’t even bring myself to sit in front of the desktop.
(This doesn’t count, because I am typing on my laptop and its not WoW!)
After Sundays raid I tallied up how many frost badges I need on my warlock to get a new set of gear. It’s over four hundred. That’s right, four, zero, zero!
It’s rather discouraging. I know they need to stretch out the content as much as they can, but I would still like to have a life and be able to get new fancy gear. Is that soooo much to ask?
/sigh – I feel a burnout break coming on – not like I can take one, people are expecting me.

YEah actually we are doing great. Its just a matter or time management. Can’t let WoW take over and ignore the rest of life. =D
