Rockband 2 – finally

When it comes to rhythm games I subscribe to the dancing versions and studiously avoid the guitar based ones (not to name names or anything). Since I am such a devotee, many found my abject repulsion of the guitar version to be shocking. I blame it on unapproachable music and controllers, but the core reason is that I am just not drawn in.

Rockband just got lumped in with the rest. The husband wanted it so badly, but I came up with excuse after excuse; we already own a guitar game, where do we put all that stuff that it comes with, its soooo expensive, we don’t have enough people to play with, etc. His desperation manifested itself into an “I want it” dance that looked strangely like the pee pee dance.

I just couldn’t find the love require to purchase it, I mean its so much stuff and so expensive, and and and.

And then we attended a party this evening that revolved mainly around the brand new Rockband 2. I saw those drums in the middle of the floor and every excuse seemed completely meaningless; I wanted nothing more then to thrash all night long. Suddenly I was doing my very own “I want it” dance.

We left the party early and picked it up. Now our living room is full of fake instruments.

Side note here, my husband could have gone out at any time to get himself a copy.

Thanks Sweet-stuff for waiting until I found the love. I know I’m slow sometimes. =)

    I too am a doubter when it comes to music games — everytime I play guitar hero I end up pouting in the corner with overly dry contacts (due to my inability to blink while playing the game). However, unlike you I know why I dislike the game — it’s because I suck. a lot. so much. and I hate sucking at things.

    Since we are practically the same person when it comes to games, I have little doubt that my experience would be the same.
    That is why I am sticking to the drums in Rockband. No one can force me to play the guitar!!! I will run!!
