Ratings explained!
I wasn’t sure if giving an overall rating to sum up the review was a great idea, but in the end decided that I might as well give it a try.
My system sounded so simple in my head. Sadly its bit more complicated then I had intended. Let me explain how it works:
For computer games there are two parts to the ratings.
The first part is an overall number for the entire game. It is represented by a set of mushrooms from one to five, five being the best. The color of mushrooms that I pick for this rating will represent my overall mood for the game.
The second part I call my mood progression. This set of mushrooms will always be a set of ten. Here the colors are the focus. They represent my various states of moods that occurred throughout my gaming experience.
I am a person with many moods and I think this system will offer a deeper insight into why I chose a particular overall rating.
I am hoping that it will be helpful and not confusing.
For everything else that I rate, I will stick with just the one to five mushroom rating.
- One mushroom
- I want my money back!
- There is no way I’m ever playing this again!
- Landfill fodder.
- Two mushrooms
- Not really worth my time and effort.
- This didn’t inspire me to want to play more.
- Three mushrooms
- Enjoyable!
- Well worth the time I put into it.
- Four mushrooms
- There better be a sequel.
- What do you mean there are only 160 hours of game play?
- Five mushrooms
- Nirvana, perfection, excellence.
- This is in my top ten favorites.
