Oh, Final Fantasy! So many great memories!! What a Legacy!!
This is 13 after all!! What other game series has come out with this many titles and remains as successful? It’s quite incredible really.
And yet, after playing this version, I wonder how the franchise has managed to hang on this long. Legacy coattails?
Evil never looked so cute. Or maybe cute never tried so hard to be evil. Whatever the case, cute clearly triumphs over evil in this fabulously entertaining tower defense game.
I have long been a fan of playing the dark side of things, especially when presented in a humorous light. Dungeon Keeper 2 hooked me, while Overlord cemented my devotion. FFCC – My Life as a Darklord only reaffirms that humor and evil are made to go together. Throw in some cute and it’s nigh irresistible.
I recently reacquired a nightly World of Warcraft (WoW) habit – the Chocobo is 100% to blame.
(Short warning break. From this point on there will be lots of language that is specific to World of Warcraft and some to Final Fantasy. This might lead to confusion for those of you that have not played theses game. Don’t worry, it means you probably have more of a social life then I do. Oh, and feel free to skip down to the pictures. )
If you didn’t skip past to the pictures you are probably wondering what a Chocobo is doing in WoW. (Chocobos are the yellow Ostrich mixed with Chicken birds that they used for mounts in Final Fantasy.)
Well back in the days after the latest WoW expansion came out, I was running my newly created bloodelf ragged, clearly starved for new entertainment.
I love Final Fantasy. This means that when something is associated with Final Fantasy I perk up and listen – that’s great marketing at work! Yes, I am brainwashed by the Final Fantasy MAN! (Or they just make great games….not quite as dramatic as brainwashing though.)
Now that hasn’t always worked out for me. Some products end up being duds (~cough~ FFX ~cough~) but usually I like what I get. That’s why, when I saw Chocobo tales it was almost an automatic decision that I should get it.
