This actually happened a week ago, but I was AFK for a wedding so yaay late posting. Lots of driving which means lots of DS time. So much driving that I ran out of batteries on mine and had to switch to using the husband’s. =)
Back now and my shaman made 52 last night. Yes, the title is a lie, but you only get the nifty big achievement spam for the “important” levels. She was 50 at one point. =P
Leveling is fast. Comparatively anyway. I might actually make 85 with this character.
As part of my leveling regiment I have been running dungeons with my little shaman. Dungeons are an incredibly speedy way to gain levels, but they are group activities. Which means dealing with other people.
Mostly the groups have been fabulous. Even convinced some guildies to come run lowbie dungeons with me (great way to complete guild challenges btw).
But then there are those special few, so easy to spot.
Both of these lovely group additions were healers. Thankfully low level dungeons hardly require much skill. Never the less I now have a healer off spec on my shaman. (That comment by Pwnsface really sealed the deal for me.)
Names matter, people!! Character names are basically first impressions. These guys got cringe worthy reactions and sadly followed it up with cringe worthy results. On the bright side this sort of naming convention is akin to a “please avoid me” forehead tattoo.
Although our guild is getting further along with the whole raiding thing in WoW, I have to say, that I still get bored pretty quickly. Thus I have given myself a brand new assignment – level up a Goblin Shaman.
We don’t really have many shaman in the guild (way to tiny of a guild, plus everyone seems to be either a hunter or a paladin, though druids seem to be edging in as well.) So for the good of the guild (yeah good of my sanity more likely) I am returning to level one. (You’re level one for a total of half a minute. Level is way faster now.)
The new goblin starting area is fabulous. Think the Sopranos but funny. =)
She is already level 15 and I’m enjoying every minute of playtime, which frankly is the point. It doesn’t hurt that the guild still needs a goblin shaman for the ‘Stay Classy’ achievement. (See!! For the guild!) =P
Last night I finally made 85 with my hunter (in World of Warcraft), which means I now have three characters at max level.
(Yes, lots of my spare time has been taken up with leveling. That and reading, as I am desperately trying to read my ten books for this month. Darn that needing to sleep. ~sigh~ Just means my post count takes a hit in the junk.)
Actually having three characters at max level is rather unusual for me. I’m not a poly-character sort of person. But Cataclysm has been so darn frustrating I have found myself with nothing else to do. Its gotten so bad I even broke down and started doing achievements!! ~shudder~
Well Patch 4.1 finally came out this week, which was supposed to be the Cataclysm revamp, and hopefully bring WoW back to resembling its previous Lich King incarnation a bit more. This has been the big reason I have held off reviewing Cataclysm, but its looking like the changes were not drastic enough to really effect the game much. Ah well.
Guess I will go on leveling characters and getting achievements. I do have two accounts, which leaves me lots of room for leveling characters. =D
There is nothing quite as rejuvenating as a fabulously large comic book (and more) convention only thirty minutes from my house. WonderCon is so close I don’t have to fly anywhere, stay in expensive hotels, and curb spending because my carrying capacity on the plane is limited. All the fun without any of the drawbacks. Certainly one of the huge perks of city living, one that I would be remiss in not enjoying to the fullest.
Druid has made 85. Thanks to my lovely husband who gave me bonus WoW time this week. =D
But level 85 doesn’t mean I know how to heal yet. Much practice is still in need.
With the mana shortage and extra hitpoints, the healing game has changed. I’m just not used to the vast amount of manage management that is now required.
It was suggested to me to go practice in pvp battles, which I have found to be a great way to get a wide range of healing situations presented in quite a short amount of time. Certainly important to stay on ones toes.
The real bonus here is that if I’m healing I dont have to participate in any of the actual pvp stuff. Win win in my book. =D
Well its been a pitiful January thus far. The end here is punctuated with a stomach flu making its way around the house.
Its been fun!! Yeah, I am hoping that after recovery, inspiration will kick in again. But then a whole week of feeling like ass has left me dubious about wanting to do anything besides sleep ever again.
My husband has managed to guilt me into leveling my druid to 85 (in WoW) with his call for guild healing. I was leveling her anyway because I want to get the all classes at 85 guild achievement, but now I am going to have to actually heal. I have no idea how to heal as a druid since they changed everything, plus my head is all fuzzy (being sick and all) that everything I read about it so far hasn’t been making much sense. Sleeping is helping to keep my panic over healing at bay. =D
Anyway, I hope everyone is getting through flu season a little more unscathed then all of us here at the plague house.
I find myself in snow ski land with only WoW to play at night, but no one wants to hear about WoW anymore. (My guild made level 6 and we have been going through all the old content getting heroic achievements plus guild achievements, lalalala!)
