My Warcraft Year in Review
This is something that has been circulating in some of the WoW Blogs I read occasionally. Even though I don’t consider this a World of Warcraft Blog (though it could easily become one!) I thought it might be a good way to pay my respects to WoW.
And respect it deserves. World of Warcraft: The Lich King expansion has probably been my favorite game of the year (2009). I know, it was actually released in 2008, but I played so much of the game this year, I think it fully qualifies. =)
I’m pretty sure that I played WoW more this year then I slept. And so I award WoW the “Better than Sleep” award. =)
My Warcraft Year in Review Meme
This comes from a poorly named WoWblog, Bible of Dreams. Although I came across it at http://www.hotsdots.com/
What did you do in the World of Warcraft in 2009 that you’d never done before?
Raiding! After quitting EverQuest, I was completely burned out on raiding. Never wanted to group with more then five people ever again. But some wonderful combination of time passing, awesome guild mates, and interesting raid content finally led me back into the fold.
What was your favorite new place that you visited?
I would probably have to say Violet Hold. I really appreciated the ‘dungeon in a single room’ design. Sure it wasn’t perfect, mainly the part where you start from the beginning if you wipe, but it sure beats some of the endless running of the rest of the WoW content.
What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Better luck with loot. I seem to have terrible luck at getting loot that I am targeting. If I run an instance to get a specific loot drop, the chance of it dropping seems to vanish.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting my Warlock to level eighty and getting her geared up.
What was your biggest failure?
This might sound strange, but not quitting. Although I love this game and the people it takes up so much time. Sometimes I wonder what other wonderful things I might have accomplished if I didn’t spend so much time on WoW.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Achievements. It did take me a while, but once I got over my initial reluctance, I threw myself in whole-heartedly.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
Waiting around for groups, for raids, for respawns, for boats, for pretty much anything. Waiting in general. From now on I am parking my DS and a book next to my desktop so at least the waiting time will be a little productive. Oh and since we signed up for Netflix I can now watch movies on demand in the background. It’s awesome! =)
What was your favorite WoW blog or podcast?
Well honestly I don’t really read many WoW blogs. I barely have time to keep this one running much less keep up with a bunch of other people. Its too bad really because there are some fabulous ones out there.
But there are some WoW websites that I frequent often, those being:
http://www.wow-heroes.com/ Because gear score matters (and really my epeen is bigger than yours!)

http://www.wow.com/ Its pretty as well as informative.
Tell us a valuable WoW lesson you learned in 2009.
What has become most apparent to me over this past year is that I love playing because of the people I play with. No matter how great this game is, nothing can replace them
