Transformers Movie Review (Theatrical)
This review is long overdue and is now being rushed out in honor of the sequel (which I hope to go see in the theater soon!) It is also dedicated to my friend Pat, who is horrified by the fact that I love this movie (and will NOT let me forget it!)
I saw this both in the theater and on DVD (which I own and have watched multiple times). The full wall-to-wall screen is by far the more exciting experience, but watching it in the privacy of my own home is vastly more comfortable. =D
Its not a big surprise that I love this movie as it vastly outclasses oysters in the aphrodisiac department. There is something about watching huge robots wreak destruction and mayhem and transform into awesome machines that makes me want to run home and have sex. If there were ever porn made for me, it would have to be this movie. What that says about me, I’m not sure, nor do I really want to know.
Despite how much I do enjoy this movie, I can hardly claim that its award worthy material. This is an action packed and special effect filled movie that pulls on the heartstrings of my youth. I loved Transformers as a young girl and even have the old show on DVD. =)
Does it do justice to my memories of Saturday morning cartoons? Sure! A show filled with action, plot holes, robots, showdowns between good and evil, random monologues, and cheesy one liners, sounds just like the movie. See, I remember loving the show in all its cheesy glory. This was no Pixar quality TV show; this was twenty minutes of simple animation and simple plots, where good triumphed and evil came back for one more try.
To turn the simple cartoon into a major blockbuster did mean that the creators had to bolster the content a bit with things like lots of human personal interest, mild sexual tension, military stuff, goofy male leads, and hot babes. And while I would have been happy with less human related parts, the movie still managed to hit all the right notes.
Besides good Computer Graphics are expensive and in this case quality over quantity definitely wins out. But the acting was pretty decent so I will take what I can get.

Lets not psychoanalyze me. I’m sure the result would be scary. =P
Last night was fun, though we didn’t get to see the movie until 9:30pm and since the movie is so long we got home after midnight. Satisfied in that I had a lot of good laughs (and too much popcorn!)
As for my favorite Transformer, well in the movies I like Jazz (although he gets it in the first movie) and Ironhide. Also I really like the huge Transformers like Mudflap (who turns into a crane truck) and Hightower who is part of a set of transformers that creates a larger robot (and turns into a construction crane).
I can’t forgot to mention Grimlock from the Dinobots. He turns into a mechanical T-Rex, which is why I named one of my hunter pets after him. =D

When we’re talking Aphrodisiac.. are we talking on the same level as erotic clowns?

Well, we shan’t psychoanalyze you either. =D
I think the safe answer is yes?
